About BKS Iyengar and the Iyengar method
Yogacharya Sri B.K.S. Iyengar was born on December 14, 1918, in Bellur, India. He studied and practised yoga continuously for over 70 years and continued to set the standard for his teachers and students right up until his death on 20th August 2014, aged 95. Guruji's textbooks on yoga have become classics, translated into 14 languages.
Until his death, he was based at the Ramamani Memorial Iyengar Yoga Institute in Pune, India.
ABOUT YOGA
