Frequently asked questions
Before your first massage we will take some time to go through your medical history to ensure it is safe and suitable for you to have a massage.
I will then leave you to allow you time to get changed and make yourself comfortable on the massage couch. Patients are required to keep underwear on but ladies can remove bras if they feel comfortable to do so or leave them on if they prefer.
You will be covered with a towel and only the areas that are being massaged will be uncovered.
On completion of your massage, I will again leave the room to allow time to get dressed.
For a full body massage, patients will need to remove clothing down to underwear. Bras may be kept on or removed completely depending on how you feel but please note, bras must be able to be unfastened at the back.
Yes. I use Songbird unscented liquiwax which is nut free and contains grapeseed oil, arnica, sunflower seed oil, beeswax and vitamin E. I also have plain grapeseed oil for patients that are vegan or require plain oil.
When massaging the neck area it is possible for oil to get in the hair but if you need to keep your hair clean please mention this at the start of treatment.
It is important to me that your massage is tailored to your needs. When we go thorough your medical history I will ask what type of pressure you prefer but feedback during your treatment is welcome. Don't be afraid to ask for more or less pressure.
Of course! Please just ask when you are booking your appointment.
Following massage it is advisable to drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins that have been released.
